(July 6, '09)

Lorna, my cute, jolly and dependable wife came in from work yesterday - - and as usual, tired. But still, she was in good spirit. When I was asked what was left to be done for the day, I answered that if we were going to attend NAFAUM that night, Marilyn asked me that I fetch her so she could join too.

I was a bit tired too from having resumed working on my pastel sketches. NAFAUM is really from July 5-9, daily from 9AM-10PM) - - but I have neglected my artmaking since I started working on their cover and program for the past weeks. Because of this, I decided not to participate in all its activities but to go there only after Lorna would have come home from work. There's also ample time for me to meet with some old friends who I had not seen for decades!

Back to Lorna - -after making a few important calls, Lorna said "call her so we could go" - - so, I did. Marilyn, as in the past days complained of having pains with her left hand caused by a sore thumb. It was the pain's peak that night so she had to change her mind about NAFAUM.

So, I then drove to NAFAUM (about 30mins to Midway Dr., TX) for dinner and for some Texan lessons in Square and Round Dance with all the NAFAUM delegates. There I met with a lot of old friends (literally, hehe).

Below are the photos I wish to share with you which you may zoom in (top right corner of photo) to enlarge for you to save and print. Any small amount you may wish to donate to NAFAUM for its publications, projects and other activities is most welcome:

For donations, make check to NAFAUM and send to:

GlennBro,

Hehehehe, did you learn their dances?

Rod

ha ha, I didn't even try . . I was too busy eating, chatting and taking photos. It looked real fun for those who participated and I kinda liked it too. Chatted a lot with Bill Matthews, the super tall man . . remember him in Pinas, the SARSI man and known for his radio program?

Pong Javier
to me

More pictures here! For more intimate moments at the Convo, Glenn Bautista shares his collection of photos (and much more). The MYF of the 60s came alive! The Velasco Family concert on the third night evoked more memories from that generation. The Velascos were pillars of St. John’s UMC in Cubao QC. We were transported back to the fun years in the Manila District MYF and the national MYF. We were excited to see Mary Helen Ingerson-Marigza and Bill Matthews, former missionaries to the Philippines that became close to that MYF class. Bill did that “Sarsi” TV commercial in the Philippines, the only commercial I watched then. We have aged well.

Go to www.glenlorn.multiply.com/photos.

Glenn writes further:

Maybe you can furnish me a short message (from you) telling the viewers
how and where to they can make a small donation to NAFAUM in exchange
for saving and printing the photos they may choose from these NAFAUM
Multiply albums.

Also, when saving an image, you may remind them to enlarge the image
first by zooming in (top right corner), then right click, then save.

For donations, make check to NAFAUM and send to:

Hi Bill,

It's good to hear from you!

Yes, I will cc my nieces who may take in projects like this. Their names are Doris and Bes Rifareal:

http://www.designworkers.biz

Because of this letter to you cc'd to them, they will definitely email you back about the name badges to inform you whether they can take in the project or not.

BTW, here's a direct link to our multi-level meeting, haha:

Glenn,

First, it was really great to see you again, and to do a little "catch up" on our long history together. I remember your father so very fondly, as he was such a friend and fellow pastor.

Second, the United Nations Association is looking for a supplier for name badges. We have some from previous times, but members of the Board and other members have changed, so we want to order again. We like the plastic engraved badges, with UN Logo (which I can supply), and probably two lines of copy -- name and "Dallas Chapter UNA" or "UNA Dallas" as a header. We like the magnetic "clip" for attachment, rather than a pin.

If you have a contact with someone, then we can proceed with getting a quote, quantity, and supply names, etc. Just let me know if you can handle production, or if you know a referral for this "very non profit" organization.

I am past president of the Dallas Chapter, now Texas Division pres, and rep to the national CCD Steering Committee, so this is my "ministry" outlook for one thing.

Hi Bill, that's only a sample of Pinoy humor, hehe. No offense meant.
