In this album are a few stories I can remember of my childhood in Olongapo, Zambales and pictures that are still with me. I promise to add more as soon as I am able to write about it. My elder sister, Ate Necy, corresponds with me via email and helps confirm our past experiences with family and friends.

I have also included a few images of my trip in Europe when I was still a student who could avail of the Eurail pass, allowing me to board any train in Europe for two months. A few times, I slept on the train on a cochette, a foldable bed for one saving money that I could have spent for hotels. Upon waking up I would find myself in another country!

Hi Glenn,

I thought I'd say hello. It's been a long time since
I last saw you. I left the Philippines with my family
back in 1991. I closed my graphic design business to
pursue my seminary studies in Pasadena. I received my
Master of Theology while ministering in Southern
California. Today, I am a pastor-at-large preaching
and teaching among the Filipino-American churches
scattered around the Greater Los Angeles County.

While 'googling' Nestor de Villa in the image section
this evening, I came across a black & white photo
entiltled Batang Pinoy '80 which was accompanied by
your notes, "I was with Nestor de Villa shooting
scenes around Morong..." You know, I still have the
two (2) airbrushed art pieces you gave me back in the
eighties. I believe they were a precursor from your
Inner-Light Series.

I returned to the Philippines in 2004 to be by my
father's side before he passed away. My brothers and
I gave a composite eulogy at his memorial service. We
miss him dearly. I was away for thirteen years. So
much has changed. I am presently writing a book about
his life with the working title "A Time To Dance: A
Son's Reflection on Living, Dying and the Things that
Matter Most." In fact, I'm headed back in
mid-February to gather photos and thumb through my
mother's scrapbooks of Dad's memorabilia.

Do find the time to catch me up on what's happening in
your life. If you're residing back home maybe I'll
pay you a visit. I scanned through your art posted at
the Yessy Art Gallery and it's quite an impressive
body of work. I trust everything is well with you and
your family. Take care and God bless you.

Yours truly,

Gicky

Hi Gicky,

It's great to hear from you, Gicky . . and to learn that you are doing God's work!
What can be more important than that?

I have met with your brother Jovy twice or thrice at CCF when my son used to train playing drums for his church. He still does play the drums for the church but with another - at the Lighthouse. David is in a Christian band now, called "Southwind":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIJYyJg7WfA

Before your Dad crossed over, I met with him at New Life when I went there with a friend, Ramon Recto, for worship. Dianne Castillejos was attending to him, then. I met with Pastor Jeric too. So, it's only you and your Mom Marilou I have not seen for quite sometime now!

I had seen photos of the family, especially of you from Jovy's computer. It may be a good idea if I meet with you and the family when you come over here in Pinas for a visit. It's just too bad that now that I am looking back to the times I was with your Dad shooting numerous photos, and now, I don't remember having a photo with him at all! If you have some, kindly email them to me. Would be nice if I get a copy of your book on your Dad Gines - - against a book on my art, of course. Kind regards to the family.

Do keep in touch, God bless.

In Christ,

Hi Ordie,

Good talking to you last night over d phone. Thrilled to know that we will soon meet before I leave for the US to join Lorna next year. Here's a link to bridge the gap, at least a few, of those many years that we did not see each other.

Thanks for this link, Randy:

Salcedo Auctions2 Glenn's Collages: http://mabuhaygirl.multiply.com/journal/item/1461/Welcome_to_Salcedo_Auctions

Yup, whenever I watched a movie (kino in Deutch) in Duesseldorf, Germany (1980-85), I would find a way to get or buy a poster and transform them into collages. More collages I did after this series:

Glenn's 2002 Collages: http://www.glennbautista.com/art/collagedrawing.html

I had earlier collages done in Germany and Spain not featured at :

http://www.glennbautista.com/

Good you mentioned, will look for the series.

Thanks bro,
